Coupons & Promo Types

All the ways to save at Apple. Each promo type can often be combined — see the Stacking Tips section.

Certified Refurbished

Apple's own refurbished store sells factory-reconditioned iPhones, Macs, iPads, and accessories at 10–25% below retail. Each unit is inspected, repaired with genuine Apple parts, repackaged, and backed by a full 1-year limited warranty with AppleCare eligibility. This is the deepest legitimate discount Apple offers on hardware.

Always Available

Education Pricing

Students, teachers, university staff, and homeschool educators qualify for Apple's Education Store, which offers 5–10% off Macs and iPads year-round. No income verification — a valid .edu email or institutional ID is typically sufficient. Education pricing also applies to AppleCare+ plans.

Always Available

Back-to-School Promotion

Apple's annual summer promotion typically runs July through September and bundles a free or discounted pair of AirPods (up to $179 value) with a qualifying Mac or iPad purchase through the Education Store. The promotion requires Education Store eligibility and usually excludes Mac Pro and entry-level iPad.

Seasonal (July–September)

Apple Gift Card Promotions

During Black Friday and select holiday windows, Apple bundles App Store & Services gift cards (typically $25–$200) with qualifying device purchases rather than discounting the devices directly. Gift cards can be used toward apps, subscriptions, Apple TV+, Apple Music, iCloud, or accessories.

Seasonal (Black Friday, Holidays)

Apple Card Daily Cash

Apple Card holders earn 3% Daily Cash on all purchases made directly from Apple — in stores, online, and in the Apple Store app. Cash is deposited the same day and can be applied immediately to the next Apple purchase, reducing effective out-of-pocket cost on every transaction.

Always Available

Trade-In Credit

Apple's trade-in program (powered by Phobio) accepts iPhones, iPads, Macs, Apple Watches, and select Android devices. Trade-in values range from $30 to $650+ depending on model and condition. Credits apply immediately at checkout — online or in-store — and can stack with promotional gift cards.

Return Policy

Apple has one of the more generous return policies among major retailers. Most items qualify for the standard return window, with extended benefits available depending on your membership or payment method.

Return WindowReturn ShippingRestocking FeeReceipt RequiredFinal Sale Items
Standard 15 days from date of purchase (in-store) or delivery (online)Free return shipping via prepaid label for online orders; in-store returns accepted at any Apple StoreNo restocking fee for most products; opened software and gift cards are non-returnableYes — Apple ID order history or original packing slip serves as proof of purchase for online orders; receipt required in-storeOpened software, iTunes/App Store downloads, engraved products, Beats products purchased in-store, and products marked Final Sale are not returnable
Apple Card Holders 15 days — same window; no extended return benefit from Apple CardFree return shipping — same as standard online returnsNo restocking fee — same policy appliesApple Card transaction history accepted as purchase verificationSame exclusions apply — Apple Card status does not override Final Sale or personalization restrictions
Key Exception: Apple's 15-day return window is shorter than most electronics retailers. The clock starts on the purchase date (in-store) or delivery date (online), not when you open the box. Engraved or customized products — including laser-engraved AirPods cases and custom Mac configurations — are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged. iPhone purchases made through carriers may be subject to the carrier's own return policy rather than Apple's.

Shipping & Delivery

Apple offers multiple fulfillment options. Here's a breakdown of the shipping methods, costs, and delivery timeframes available.

Free Standard Shipping

Free on all orders

Apple offers free standard shipping on every order with no minimum purchase required. Delivery typically takes 3–5 business days. Available for all product categories — iPhones, Macs, iPads, AirPods, accessories, and Apple Watch.

Free Two-Day Shipping

Free on most orders

Most Apple hardware orders qualify for complimentary two-day shipping. Availability depends on product and zip code. Two-day shipping is offered at no additional charge during checkout where eligible.

Same-Day Delivery

Available in select cities

Apple offers same-day delivery in select metro areas via courier. Orders must be placed before the cutoff time (typically early afternoon). Same-day delivery is available for iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple Watch in major markets. Pricing and availability shown at checkout.

In-Store Pickup

Free — often within hours

Reserve online and pick up at any Apple Store the same day, often within 1–2 hours for in-stock items. Apple's 'Today at Apple' pickup reservation system shows real-time store inventory. No shipping cost, no delivery wait — the fastest fulfillment option.

Stacking Tips

Combine multiple discount types in a single transaction. These are the most effective stacking combinations at Apple.

1

The Education + Gift Card Stack

Education Store pricing (5–10% off) + Back-to-School AirPods bundle (July–Sep, up to $179 value) + Apple Card 3% Daily Cash

If you are a student or educator buying a Mac between July and September, combine Education Store pricing with the Back-to-School AirPods bundle, then pay with Apple Card to earn 3% Daily Cash back. On a $1,299 MacBook Air, this combination yields approximately $65–$130 off the retail price plus free AirPods — an effective savings of 15–20%+ depending on the AirPods model included.

2

The Refurb + Apple Card Stack

Certified Refurbished discount (10–25% off) + Apple Card 3% Daily Cash

Purchase from the Apple Certified Refurbished Store and pay with Apple Card. The refurbished discount reduces the base price by 10–25%, and the 3% Daily Cash credit lands in your Apple Cash wallet the same day. On a $999 refurbished MacBook, that's up to $250 off retail plus $30 back — the lowest effective price on Apple hardware outside of a trade-in.

3

The Trade-In + Gift Card Promo Stack

Trade-in credit ($30–$650+ depending on device) + Black Friday gift card bundle ($25–$200 gift card) + Apple Card 3% Daily Cash

During Apple's Black Friday event, trade in your existing device at checkout to reduce the purchase price, receive the bundled gift card promotion on qualifying products, and pay with Apple Card for 3% back. A $400 trade-in value on an older iPhone plus a $150 gift card bundle and 3% card cashback can reduce the effective out-of-pocket cost on a new iPhone by $575 or more before any financing benefit.

4

The Carrier Promotion + Apple Card Stack

Carrier trade-in/installment promotion (up to $1,000 off via bill credits) + Apple Card Monthly Installments (0% APR) + Apple Card 3% Daily Cash (on the purchase total)

When carriers like Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile offer trade-in promotions for new iPhones, purchase the device directly from Apple using Apple Card's 0% APR Monthly Installments (ACMI). You still earn the 3% Daily Cash on the full device price, while the carrier applies bill credits over 24–36 months. This preserves cashback on a purchase that would otherwise be routed through the carrier's own checkout.

Price Match Policy

Apple's price match guarantee lets you claim a lower price from qualifying competitors — both at the time of purchase and up to 14 days after. Knowing the rules can save you from overpaying on big-ticket items.

No Formal Policy

Apple does not offer a price match guarantee for competitor retailers. Apple's MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with authorized resellers mean virtually no retailer can legitimately advertise Apple products below the suggested retail price.

Uniform Pricing

Apple maintains strict uniform pricing across all its own sales channels — apple.com, Apple Store app, and physical Apple Stores all carry identical prices. There is no haggling and no in-store price variation.

Authorized Reseller Deals

Third-party authorized resellers — Best Buy, Costco, B&H Photo, Amazon — occasionally offer bundle deals, gift card promotions, or instant savings that effectively reduce the price below Apple MSRP without technically violating MAP policy.

Qualifying Competitors

Exclusions

  • No competitor price matching at Apple retail or online
  • No post-purchase price adjustments based on third-party pricing
  • Apple Store prices are identical to apple.com — no in-store negotiation
  • MAP agreements prevent authorized resellers from advertising below MSRP
If you want below-MSRP Apple pricing without the refurbished trade-off, monitor Best Buy's 'Instant Savings' events — Best Buy periodically offers $50–$150 off select Mac models as limited-time promotions. Costco occasionally bundles AppleCare+ at no extra charge. These are the best legitimate ways to beat Apple's uniform retail price on new hardware.
